unique upcycled lightweight handmade metal earrings made from recycled soda cans | Kerri Kreates | Olathe Kansas | United States

Some obvious and not so obvious ways to keep your earrings looking new…

Last on-First off.  Do not sleep in the earrings. They should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off. This will also prevent hairspray from building up on them.

Never wipe the earrings with alcohol or spray perfume on them.  Use a dry or lightly damp, soft cloth and gently wipe. If the silver plated findings begin to tarnish, use a soft dry cloth to polish.

Aluminum is not steel, please do not place heavy objects on top of your earrings.

Never bathe/shower in or immerse the earrings in water.

While the earrings are on, you can gently squeeze the ear wire (back to front) to better form to your ear lobe. Since the earrings are so light, this will help it to hang correctly throughout the day.

Last, but not least, always wear the rubber backings to insure they will stay secured to your ear. They are so lightweight, you won’t know you have lost it until someone mentions you are setting a new trend by only wearing one earring!

My goal is to keep these fun earrings at a price that you can buy several of your favorites. Since the recycled soda cans are donated by my neighbors, the cost comes from my time designing/crafting the earrings, paints, findings and beads. I buy quality ear wires made from Silver Plated Brass, Antique Gold Plated Brass and Gold Plated Brass. If I were to add sterling silver or gold ear wires, the price would greatly increase. The beads used are listed in the descriptions of each earring. If a silver bead is used, it is normally silver plated brass.
